With 16+ years of experience in telecommunications and expertise in Business Development, R&D and Marketing in multiple nations, Charles Ai Chao is now VP Technology Cooperation & Head, Early Stage Investment, R&D of Huawei Technologies, Co. Ltd. He is also taking care of the International/National Research & Innovation Programs including Horizon 2020, etc. for the company.
He was VPBD of FutureWei Technology Inc./Huawei US R&D Center until 2011. Before relocating to US, he was in charge of the R&D of a core Optical transmission product in Huawei, which had been widely deployed globally later, and then worked in Huawei Corporate Strategy Marketing Dept. for international emerging business opportunities.
His interests include disruptive technology innovation and breakthroughs in ICT industry as well as the novel methodologies and models for innovation and evaluation and has been working with many famous professors in different countries in these fields and sometimes give speeches in these fields.
