Professor Norman C. Tien is the Dean of Engineering at the University of Hong Kong. One of his major initiatives was the launch of the Advanced Robotics Laboratory for promoting multi-disciplinary, collaborative and impactful research in robotics.
Prior to joining HKU, he was Dean and Nord Professor of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. He held faculty positions previously at UC Davis, UC Berkeley and Cornell University, and received a distinguished title of Honorary Professor of Tianjin University.
Professor Tien’s research interests are in the area of microelectromechanical (MEMS) and microsystems technologies. He received his Doctor of Philosophy from University of California, San Diego, Master of Science from University of Illinois, and Bachelor of Science from University of California, Berkeley.< BACK TO JURYS LIST
