Entered to the prestigious University of Science And Technology at age of 15 (1981-1985) . Pursuit the engineering education at Paris Tech (also called École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications) with Diploma of this prestigious French Engineering school (one of very few students from China in 1989)
Entered BULL as telecommunication engineer after graduating from Paris Tech.
Joined Fives in 1993: opened the first office of Fives in China, established Fives Pillard China in 1994, negotiated the first JV of Fives with China Steel in 1997 Studied joint MBA at INSEAD and Wharton Fontainebleau and Philadelphia (1999-2001)
General Manager of Fives Steel in Pittsburg (2002 – 2006)
Appointed as Vice President Business Development of Fives in 2007, opening Fives workshops in Suzhou and in Fives Filing and Sealing in Guangzhou taking Fives to another level in China.
Appointed as Country Director China and member of Executive Committee of Fives Group in 2010
After the opening and the reform of China in the late 1980’s, Michelle has largely contributed the economic and industrial exchanges between French Government, French enterprises and their Chinese counterparts to promote the bilateral collaboration. In 2014, the president of the Republic of France octroyed the title of Chevalier de l’ordre Du Mérite of the Legion of Honor to Michelle SHAN. .
In 2016 Michelle was nominated by French government as the ambassador of French AIF (Alliance pour L’Industrie du Futur) aiming to promote cooperation between the French national plan “Industry of Future” and the Chinese plan « Made in China 2025 »
